Two Merrymeeting Brands Make Area Developer Top 50 List Print E-mail

CLEVELAND, OH, December 5, 2007 – Merrymeeting®, Inc. is pleased to announce that two of its franchised brands, Frontier Adjusters® and Sunbelt®, were recently identified in Area Developer magazine’s “The Area Developer 50: Largest Number of Multi-Unit Operators.”  Frontier Adjusters and Sunbelt were ranked 37th and 45th, respectively.

“There is a strong trend of multi-unit operators developing in franchising, which is evident from Sunbelt’s 112 and Frontier’s 166 multi-unit operators,” stated John Davies, Merrymeeting CEO.  “We recognize the importance of providing these types of growth opportunities to current and prospective franchisees and look forward to utilizing this as an expansion strategy for all Merrymeeting brands.”

With sixty percent of the Sunbelt franchise system comprised of multi-unit operators, it was also ranked 47th on “The Area Developer 50: Highest Percentage of Multi-Unit Operators.”

Each year, Area Developer examines the total number of multi-unit franchise operators and the percentage of multi-unit operators within a franchise system.  The data is provided by FRANdata, which compiles franchise data from franchisors’ Uniform Offering Circulars.  Multi-unit operators are determined by matching incorporated entities and principals within a franchise system.  Unit counts are calculated based on the number of unit addresses for a given franchisee entity.
